Blame It on the Single Parents... Again.

Last night, as I sat in my boring ass EDSS class, the Presidential Debate was going on. However, I caught the tail-end of it on the way home via some AM radio station. When I first turned it on, the question of gun violence was just being asked. President Obama's answer included enforcing gun laws and putting new legislation into place. Due to gun control being so difficult to tackle, especially in the 'hood, his answer was pretty good. Now, here comes Mittens' answer. #LeSigh. He says that solutions to gun violence include education and “marriage before having children.”

This is one of the reasons why I hate Mitt Romney.How the fuck does education and having a two-person household solve the issue of gun violence?! It doesn't. There are plenty of thieves and violent criminals who lived in two-parent households prior to their crimes. Careful not to offend anyone (too late), he tried to clean it up by saying that there are plenty of good single mothers and fathers, but two-parent households are the way to go. Really, Mittens? Did your two-parent household prevent you from being a douche? Nope.

Though I will admit that two-parent households are ideal, I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are the end-all/be-all to all of the world's problems.There are so many factors to consider when looking at the root of violence—environment, family background, peer interactions, etc... But, no, everyone wants to blame single parents and gays/lesbians for the issues in the world. Has it ever occurred to anyone that maybe people are capable of thinking for themselves? No? Okay. We'll just continue to blame it on broken families and lack of education.

Mitt, fuck your bullshit ass philosophy on marriage saving the world.
